Hey guys, I recently purchased a wurlitzer 120 and I'd like to build a cab for it. I realized that unlike the rhodes the Wurli 120 has its own internal tube amp. Does anyone know what kind of load the amp's output transformer requires? How I should wire the speakers that I intend on using?...I'm really new to the electrical side of things so any help would be greatly appreciated. - Mario

This amp is low output power, do not use speakers that are too large...

The output is only in the 12-18 watt range unless it was modified.

A 700 has the same amp and has a single  12" speaker, but had a small magnet, unlike todays 12" musical instrument speakers. A couple of 8" speakers should be ok as long as you get the impedance correct. You do not need the frequency response of the speakers to go above 4k. The highest note of an acoustic piano is an octave higher than a wurli and that note is around 4.2 k. ( you want it a bit higher than the actual note due to overtones) The lowest note on a wurli is 55 hz if tuned correctly. Basically what I am saying is to use full range speakers, not woofers.....and you really dont need tweeters either.
