Hi there,

I'm thinking of buying a tremolo pedal with panning effect. I found various opinions here and there.

Concerning the Boss PN 2 tremolo pan, is it appropriate to the rhodes, and will it give a similar result as a suitcase ? I have occasion to buy it for 100 euros with shipping so I cannot test it.

I understood that it was better than the newer TR2 (less loss of signal), but I also read about a clicking sound quite distubring, have any of you used it ?

Do you have another one to suggest me ??

Thanks for your help.  :D

Hi guys,

I received the pedal. The rythmic noise is not so loud so that's ok but what I notice is that when i "activate" the pedal, I get a very high noise level who is very problematic. It's disappear as soon as I de activate the effect.

I use my rhodes MKII -> cable-> PN-> cable -> Roland KC350

Any suggestion to get rid of this noise ??

is it a hiss or buzzing sound?

hiss or white noise may be an indication of aged or bad electronics.. a buzzing may be because of impedance, meaning you need to put the pedal south of a pre-amp stage.

Hello,

It's making a "sshhhhhhhhhhh".  Not really a hiss.

In fact, I can avoid it if I put my amp at 5 level but then I do not have the volume I wish.
And when I desactivate the effect I can easily go till 8 level before to hear the noise.

I changed my cable for a shorter one, tried all the combinations but I give up. I think I will return the pedal and keep on playing with the raw sound !

Can you use an FX send/return from the amp?.. that may allow for a preamp stage first which might product better results.

There is no specific fonction on the amp to do this, so I tried to make a loop in the headphone IN or in another channel, and it's horrible I had some huge larsen; I don't want to break the amp.

Maybe I just have to admit that a pedal effect does decrease the signal/noise ratio (by creating some noise).
