Dating a Wurlitzer?

I though 200-A were produced just around 1980-1981 but lately I found out they came out earlier. Then I would like to find out the production date of mine, but I don't really know where to spot. All I can see is that my faceplate is the later one, brushed and "not-mirror-like" looking. Any help? I don't really *need* to know, I'm just curious about it... Anyway some directions in such topic would make a great sticky to this forum.

Some have dates stamped either on or under the keys on one end or the other

The later ones have a wurlitzer nameplate on the back, facing ' the audience'

The 200as came out in the early 70's, I believe

does this mean something to you??

this is the only printed number I could find...

Also, there's no cool back faceplate, I have one I ordered from vintage vibe but I have not installed because it needs drilling 2 holes to the top...

I do not see any numbers in that photo. If you do not have the logo, i THINK that means pre 1980
But I am not 100% sure.

I use an ipad...it doesnt scroll

Those numbers dont mean anything to me, but maybe Morelock's in Mississippi would know.
SOME wurlis ave an old fashioned rubber stamp with the date stamped inside, but not all.

You can take a look at the EIA code on  the power transformer to get a very general idea. I have 2 later 200A's with the Wurlitzer logo's on the back, one transformer stamped 9th week of '81, the other is stamped 29th week of '79.   Of course Wurlitzer probably used whatever stock they had lying around, so while it is not a very accurate way to date, at least you can determine that it was produced after a certain week/year.

Also same idea with the EIA code the back of the Vib pot.

GREAT!!

vibrato pot: 1976, 38th week
power suply: 1976, 50th week

that matches and makes sense!! so it was probably manufactured around the end of 1976.
thank you guys!!

Cheers Electroharmony, I put your post in a sticky thread, this is a big help.

This topic helped to send me down a VERY deep rabbit hole on finding the dates of Wurlitzer Electric Pianos.  Here's an article about it on my website.  I update it from time to time:
