Anyone use the cleartune - chromatic tuner from the App store?

Thanks. :)

Yeah, this was my personal choice and I have no complaint. Its very accurate and really easy to use. I had this for guitars and I just tried this on my rhodes because I had it handy, but I got really impressed how good it is dealing with my piano.

I know many of you would not recommend this for a professional usage but, for me it does the job, and you could't find a better tuner for $3,00.

Surprisingly accurate.

I have just looked at this on the App store... Not sure which one to go for.

Just collected my Rhodes today! :D

I love cleartune.  Get it.

It has put all my other tuners out of commission.

It has great range (many many octaves), and it has very good hearing.  I mean that I can tune an electric guitar without plugging the guitar in to an amp... my iphone can hear the quiet strings vibrating on a solid-body guitar.

It works great on the Rhodes as well.

I have tried to mess with it by trying it while my phone is very cold and very hot, but the tuner is very stable.  I cannot find any flaws with cleartune.

The Peterson product is twice the price, and they shot themselves in the foot by including the following sentence in their notes for the product: "Not recommended for piano tuning."

The strobosoft website and all the appstore reviews are completely silent on the ability of this product to hear overtones, and make the disks spin at different speeds to show inharmonicity.  All of the screen images show the different disks perfectly aligned (as if all the notes had perfectly tuned overtones).  So what is the point?  Why have a stobotuner that can't do what a strobotuner is supposed to do?

Given that, and the lukewarm reviews for iStrobosoft; I went with cleartune, and I love cleartune.

Well, I jumped on over to spewtoob and looked for a iStrobosoft demo.... well, there are demos, but none impressive.  I can't expect an online video to clearly show the movement of the different disks, but it appeared that the tuner was trying to spin the highest disk fast at times.  It really didn't seem that impressive, with a bass guitar for an imput sound the tuner found no wavering in the overtones.  Really?

Looks like the iphone and ipad versions are no threat to expensive Peterson and Conn strobotuners.

This seems to confirm your suspicions.

I've been using a Peterson StroboFlip.  I'm very happy with its stability. It's much easier to read than a quartz tuner.

I was not aware of this difference from Peterson's mechanical tuners. Even when I've used a mechanical, I've always just watched the most prominent band, ignoring the overtones.

What do you do with the information provided by the overtone bands? I would think that if you're not happy with a note's inharmonicity, your only option would be to replace the tine.

Fyi for the android fan boys and girls...Cleartune is also available on the Android market.

Have not tested it on the rhodes yet but assume it will do the job.
