I have a buddy that is strapped for cash and he owns a Kustom electric piano that I believe works perfectly. These are the pre digital piano keyboards that ALMOST sounded like a piano, but I believe that is the only sound they have. Does anyone know anything about the value of these?

I have not seen this keyboard in about 6 years, but I believe it is in great shape except no legs.

My friend was suddenly forced to retire due to health issues and this is most likely going to be the first item he has to sell.

My friend used to use one in his band when they had a keyboardist who was very particular about having something that felt like playing a real piano.  They are heavy but have a great sound, almost rhodes-like, but closer to a real piano.  Though I think I've only ever seen them go for $200-300.  I think the lower price is due to their lesser-known status, size, and weight, at least compared to rhodes/wurlitzer/etc.

The Real MC

I used to gig with a Kustom88.  They were one of the first electronic pianos that was a good effort to approximate the sound and feel of a piano.  It replaced my Rhodes because I needed more of a piano sound to cut through the guitars in the band.  Big plus is they never go out of tune.

They're only worth the $200-300 range.  I would play it and check if all the notes work right because they used silver plated contact springs formed from fine wire which can deform over time.  There is no way to put a MIDI retrofit in them.  Without legs they are probably too heavy for most keyboard stands.
