How old is my Clavinet?

Is there any database with which to determine when a specific Clavinet was produced?

From reading various posts this is the general consensus:

Early Clavinet D6's have the preamp mounted to the base of the case, the wiring is then connected to the switches which are mounted on the cheekblock.

Then later this preamp was mounted directly to the left cheek block and incorporated the tone switches directly in to the PCB.

If you're looking for an exact date of your clavinet the only one I've managed to find yet is the manufacture stamp on the BeyerDynamics transformer.

Check here for mine.

In this case the transformer was made in October 1973 (my preamp is mounted to the case)

Depending on how quick the lead time from manufacture to installation could put my D6 from late 73 to early 74.

Hope this helps.
