Sustain dowel dimensions
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:43:20 AM »
I am in the process of rebuilding a 1978 mkI stage model. It's missing the sustain dowel. I saw in another thread that it should be a 3/4" dowel, can anyone please tell me the length I should cut the dowel?

I don't have one handy to measure dimensions, but do note if you find one online, the stage model dowel should be slightly longer than the suitcase model dowel, as there's an added 1/2" I believe to the stage model's case bottom for stability.

I JUST pulled mine out because I need to make one for a 73 stage.

From my 54:

The diameter is about 3/4" and definitely less than 7/8".
The overall length is right about 3+3/8" not including the felt on both ends.
The retaining pin is about 1+1/2" from the top, or about 1+7/8" from the bottom.
