Not sure if this has been done on here yet, but I thought it might be interesting to hear some of your favorite Rhodes or Wurly solos.  Maybe share a youtube link so we can start a collection here.  A few of mine to start.

Noteworthy:  Steely Dan's Black Cow.

Mine will always be the solo from Hancock's Chameleon, that Cormac posted. That's my favorite Rhodes tone ever, and it's just such a great solo.

I've also always liked the solo from Riders on the Storm: http://youtu.be/DED812HKWyM?t=2m46s although it's often too "plunky" and I like how Chameleon is ever so slightly smoother.

Some nice ones so far. This is Robert Walter from Greyboy Allstars playin on "Happy Friends"

As a guitarist, I guess some of my earliest Rhodes solos that stand out in my mind, and have shaped what I've come to love about these pianos would have to include...

The "Bob Mayo, on the keyboard. Bob Mayo" solo from the live version Frampton's "Do You Feel..."   I can't be alone there.

And the Rhodes work that's all over Jeff Beck's "Blow By Blow"  Was that Max Middleton?  Freeway Jam, Cause We've Ended as Lovers, Diamond Dust -- Just enough clarity on the top end, but still soft.  Sounds like a rainy day.

This one isn't a solo, but I love the sound of Robert Lamm's piano breaks on this live/studio version of Chicago's "Feeling Stronger Every Day"

Check him out at :34 and later at 2:14 for that BOWMP! he's getting on that old Suitcase.  Looks to be a '70-'72.

Definitely one of my favorites.  That solo is the rhodes through a Leslie.  I used a similar rig in my early gigging days and could get that exact sound, but only a certain era rhodes (early 70s) will get that sound.

Joe Sample's "Street Life" solo is pretty good, too! (Begins at 3:45)

I'm with the George Duke fans; I'd vote for anything off The Grand Wazoo or Roxy and Elsewhere. Also Victor Feldman's solo on Steely Dan's Black Cow.

I am also a huge fan of the Zappa-era George Duke Rhodes workouts. Some of the most glorious music made in my lifetime. Always loved George's sound and inventiveness. Here's another good example:

Hi all, my reply isn't original but I hope it contributes to the overall consensus.
Chameleon is the Rhodes solo that started it all for me - Herbie's playing style and the Rhodes piano is a match made in heaven and it's shaped my entire career / life. Those of you who've seen me play my transcription on my youtube channel know how much I've got into this stuff. I've always wanted to play the way I heard Herbie play on that solo. Nothing else comes close. The second thing that really moved me as much as that was hearing Herbie improvise on the Rhodes on that well-known Michigan 1973 bootleg. I've posted my video (in an earlier thread) of me trying to do that improvisation justice on my suitcase Rhodes at a recent gig - but that is seriously one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I know this whole thing is so subjective and other people love George Duke or Chick Corea (tines thunking against pickups or super bright tone) but for me, nothing has the power and beauty of Herbie and his suitcase Rhodes.

Also, if 'overall consensus' is a tautology then I blame that on the fact that I've already drunk a lot tonight and one of my housemates has just broken out the Austrian 'Stroh 80'. I'm sure Austrians are great at many things but they are not great at rum. Don't ever drink this stuff. Clean corroded tines with it maybe, but don't drink it.
