hey guys. i'm new here. my girlfriend got me a rhodes a few months ago as a random gift and since then i've been hooked. i don't even really play keys (i'm a guitar player) but i just love the sound.

anyway, i wanted to tell anyone in the maryland area about a place called Atomic Music in college park. this place is a great used music store, and they always have at least one rhodes. my girlfriend got my 1973 Mark 1 suitcase for only $350, and it works perfectly. right now they have 2 Mark 2's, and i know one of them works well, but i havnt played the other one. they also have a stage piano with the huge speaker and everything. both of the mark 2's are under $400, and i dont know about the other one. the thing is though, even if something's wrong with a rhodes you buy there, they have a rhodes that they only use for parts and they will hook you up with whatever you need free of charge (as long as it's not something HUGE). so i just wanted to let everyone know about this place. peace yall.

haha you guys are funny. someone actually just bought one of the mark 2's, so they have one left. i had a chance to play this one though, and it seems like the pickups are bad. half the keys play real well, but the other half (random keys) come through very quietly. i guess that's why it's only 300 bucks, but it still looks great, and im sure you could get it fixed easily.

this is lame to point out but the stage rhodes has the legs and the suitcase rhodes has the speaker cabinet. not the other way around.

alright well sorry for the mix-up. like i said im totally new to this, and i really dont know much about the rhodes other than what i've read here, and that i like to play mine.

i didn't want to sound like a w**ker but i guess i couldn't help myself.

the other day i was talking to a guy said his friend paid $2,500 (australian)for a stage rhodes and i was pretty shocked.
i later realized that he meant a suitcase cause he was talking about how he found a stage rhodes at a club with the speaker and all.
i bit my tongue during that conversation but i guess i couldn't this time.

and the names don't make sense anyway!!!
and there is no vibrato!!only tremelo!!
stupid fender.
