Just found my Retrolinear Wurlitzer 200A amp in the mailbox.
Someone here that installed this board before ?

As I read the instructions, it seems like I don't need the pre-amp (in the center of the pickup-bar) anymore ...
Is that right ?
Like just throw it away and connect the RCA cable instead of the pre-amp ?

English is not my main language, so I wanna be sure :-)

If I won't need that pre-amp anymore, too bad, I installed a brand new VV-remake a few months ago, so I wasted my money on that ;-)

Yes, that is correct... The preamp on the reed bars is eliminated.

If you need any further assistance with the installation, please contact us directly at

Thanks for your reply !

In the meantime everything works fine, and WOW what a dream-amp !!
Every positive review about this board is SO true.

After a year of being in doubt what to do (Warneck amp, VV amp, original amp, ...) I'm convinced I made the right decision.
Difference is night and day...

Can't stop playing this super Wurly, and I highly recommand this amp to all of you.

I'll also add my satisfaction to timpotents post - I've just fitted one to my 200 as part of a full restoration, and also couldn't be happier.

Now I know that adding the pickup shield is a large part of killing the noise on these older models, but it is now utterly silent when not playing - both through the speakers and the output jack. Its also got a great low end - the notes are solid and really sing out clear as a bell, whereas on the original, the bottom octave was a bit mushy for want of a better word.

The boards are real easy to fit and the instructions are well written. Highly recommended.

In October I'm having one of these Warneck amps installed in my 200. I plan to keep the original amp just in case someone wants it in the future.

I'm ordering one of these (WR 200 Amp) today for someone.  I have a 200 with the VV 200 amp and i'll try to make a video of the VV 200 replacement amp vs. the Warneck Research replacement amp. I haven't seen any videos of the VV regular 200 replacement amp. I can vouch that they are awesome and dead quiet, but I haven't heard the Retrolinear one yet. I can only find videos of the VV 200A tube-preamp-model amp.
