Glue under 200 amp
« on: March 15, 2014, 10:20:12 AM »
Anyone else have this dried up glue crap under their 200 amp? It's a little flakey and I don't want it getting into or around my new amp. I want to get it off with steel wool but don't want it to rust after. Anyone have any ideas as to how to keep it from rusting once I get it off?

Clean off anything that will flake away and then glue the non-conductive matt back down before installing your new amp.

There are rust cleaners like CLR or even a little bit of WD40 but with any rust related products like that I use them as sparingly as possible.

What should I glue it with? There isn't any rust, just dried up glue.

Anything that will bond to metal will work fine. The footprint holes will pretty much hold it in place anyways. My go to would be contact cement or hot glue.
