4-Pin Suitcase Ground Question

I just picked up a pristine 1974 Fender Rhodes suitcase 73.  The original cable has all four pins connected to the corresponding other four pins.  There is nothing connected to the shield of the cable on eitehr side. Is this right?  If not, where should the baraided shield be connected on either or both plugs?  Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi :-)
As long as you haven't any hum problem, leave it as it is....tech-wise it is good practice to connect the shield on the amp side of the cable but NOT to the piano side as this may form a ground loop.
