Where do all the sustain pedals go?

I just bought a Rhodes off eBay with no pedal and it seems like every other one on there lacks a sustain pedal. I also noticed a lot of people on this board said they've bought Rhodes's with no pedal. I understand you can buy replacements, but where did all the original ones go? Is there a warehouse sitting in the middle of a forest where the pedal elves go in the night and bring all the sustain pedals? I guess it's not a huge deal but I was just curious if anyone knew any reason why there's a mass lack of sustain pedals in the world of second hand Rhodes pianos it seems.

I don't know about the sustain pedals (my stage piano came with one) but I didn't get the WHOLE sustain rod - just the narrower part. I'm temporarily using an extendable tent pole I bought from a camping store and modified but I don't think it looks very nice  :?

But in the end it's all worth it. I'm totally completely and utterly in love with my Rhodes and wouldn't part with it for anything (and believe me people have offered me a lot more than I paid for it). I still intend to spend a lot more money on it to make it truly shine again.
