Clavinet D6 uneven keys
« on: February 03, 2015, 03:03:35 PM »
I have this D6 in the shop and the keys are all tilting to the right and they're uneven in height. Almost like they've been deliberately bent that way... Any suggestions on how to fix this? Do I need to remove the keys and adjust the tip that the grommet is seated on?

With a little patience and intuition you should be able to straighten them out.

Remove the keys and adjust the guide arm within the key. For black keys it might be easiest for you to remove the adjacent white keys... You may or may not need to replace the grommet on the guide arm if i is creating too much friction with the inner guide of the key. And in extreme situations you may need to adjust the post at the end of the key... Use a plyers to make minor subtle adjustments and check your work as you go.
