Peterson LED mod

Anyone ever done the mod to a Peterson pre-amp where the circuit is changed to accommodate LEDs? 

I ask because I recently acquired a preamp where it appears someone has done this.  I'm hoping the mod is reversible, as the unit isn't working anyway.

Yes I put one in a Rhodes last year and I was impressed with it. Is the mod the source of the problem?

Im not sure about the sound. I watched the VV demo and it didnt sound as smooth as the bulb vib. Recently i replaced the bulbs on mine and it sounds killer!

Well, it turns out it's not an LED mod.  I mistakenly thought it was because the aluminum bulb covers were gone and there appears to be some additional holes and overheated areas in the traces.  After opening it up, I solved the molex mystery from a previous post.  It looks like they were drawing power from the unit, I'm guessing to run an effect?  I don't know what they were going for, but I'm going to have it returned it to the stock setup.

It was an ebay purchase.  The seller said it came from a working piano.  After questioning, as I suspected, he'd merely been using the send from FX loop and plugging into a guitar amp.  I'm getting a partial refund, so it's still going to be worth my while.
