Clavinet D-6 power supply specs
« on: October 11, 2016, 04:01:40 PM »
Didn't think it would be this hard to search for, but can't find the proper specs on a wall wart power supply for a D-6.  People forgetting to turn off the clavs on rentals and "keyboard is dead" on multiple occasions.  One tried to replace the 9V battery and ripped the connector right off.

Varying reports from 6v to 9v, no mention of barrel connector pin size (maybe 2.5mm or 3mm?)

Anyone have any reference to specs so I can source generically?  Thanks

Center positive 9V 300mA min or 6V 600 mA min.  Voltage isn't a huge issue with D.C., just make sure the adapter has the mA rating or more. Dunno on the size. Have some calipers?

Perfect, thanks.  I may try inserting different plugs to see if I can find a size match if I can't find my calipers.

Hi .-)

Beware !  Power connector on the D6 is center negative !!  Use a linear supply, not a switching supply, which will probably cause annoying ripple and other artifacts. Any regulated 9V / 100mA supply will do. (...remember, the circuit only needs some mA's...)

Hi :-)

Take a look onto the schematics (and the 'real thing', too):

Clavinet C, D6, E7, Pianet Duo have center negative.
