Bulk source of Rhodes pickups?
« on: June 24, 2018, 10:51:05 AM »
I have a problem - I need to replace most of the pickups in my 1979 Mk1 Suitcase Rhodes (ouch!).

For reference, I'm based in the UK, so do folk know of any bulk source of pickups if I decide to replace rather than repair?

I'm hoping for a decent discount on the pricey single pickup prices. New/used/refurbished I don't mind.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Mellowman.

I might be able to assist! My electrical engineer partner at the RhodesWorks here in Leeds (Howard at Mac Amps) can often repair Rhodes pickups depending on where the corrosion or break is in the copper wire. If you want to send them over to me I can get him to inspect them all and see how many are salvageable and get you a price if you like? Will be much cheaper than buying a whole lot of new ones! We can but try! Shoot me a PM if you like, will do my best to help. Heres some links just so you know im legit!

all the best
Dan

Thanks for that Dan, it would certainly benefit from an expert eye.

I'll be in touch again when I can take it down.
