how do you fit a bridle strap?

I had to replace one the other day and I couldn't see how the bridle strap was attached to the hammer. Is it glued? If so, what is the best way to take off the old one?

I believe they are super glued in place.

Fortunately I havent had to replace any but would guess as with most things that have been super glued it wont be easy.

I leave it for someone whos been round the block on these to advice
